You Can Do That: Eat Veggies For A Week

You may wonder “only fruits and vegetables?” Not strictly but your diet should consist of this food group most of the time every time you eat. Yes, for some this is dramatic shift especially if you come from the world of on the go convenience food. But you’re looking for quick weight loss, right? If that is the still the case read on

From my own experience, I lost weight quickly by changing how I ate. I was much stricter with myself- fruit and veggie were 90% of my diet around three month. Occasionally, I “cheated” and ate rice and seed bread. I felt bad about it at first but realized later on when I lost weight too quickly that I needed the carbohydrates for energy every so often.

After learning that others eat this way all the time and the long term benefits I dove in head first with thinking about the consequences. I wanted to eat this way because I believed it would help me age well. I am not at an aging age yet but I am still concerned about my long term health. While fanaticizing about eternal youth and eating as much fruit and vegetables as I could, I was losing weight faster than I would have liked to. Carbohydrates were almost absent from my diet.

The safer way to lose weight quickly is to be sure that your meals consist of mostly vegetables, fruits, and some carbohydrates too.  To ease yourself into a healthier diet, start by pilling your plate with half of a healthy alternative of your favorite carb and the other half with your favorite dark green vegetable. I suggest a dark, leafy vegetable such as bok choy because many don’t realize how nutrient dense and delicious leafy vegetables can be. They’re packed with an assortment of vitamins and necessary minerals. In bok choy there’s a high amount of vitamin A and C, calcium, and iron. The taste is a little bitter but if you mix garlic or ginger it doesn’t taste so bad. Don’t settle for losing weight quickly but also take care of your health while you’re at it.

Your other concern may be the cost and expiration date of fresh produce. To get the most of your produce, buy produce when you need it and use it right away. When you need it means you may have to go on more grocery runs than you like. You can also buy green produce bags to keep your fruits and veggies to preserve them. Purchase canning jars and learn to can so you can have your greens even longer. Your new diet doesn’t cost as much as you think. Since half of what you’re eating are vegetables and healthy grains costs will be down. To save even more on produce, buy it when it is in season. Look into your local co-op to buy produce in bulk. Stop by a small grocery store to see if you can buy ripe produce that the store needs to sell immediately. You can often save as much as 50%.

Now you have a plan to lose weight quickly in less time.
